Love At First Sight by John L. Haigh
It was love at first sight
It happens you know
When I gazed into her eyes
How it scared me so
She was the one
I knew it right there
How my life would be changing
It starts with a stare
She was a beauty
Inside and out
She lit up the room
She was my girl, no doubt
It was joy from then on
Some call it bliss
There is nothing about her
I don't dearly miss
Now that she's gone
I seem less of a man
So hard to move forward
If only I can
The strength that she gave me
Is all but gone now
To pick up the pieces
I just don't know how
The future's uncertain
This much I know
She gave my life purpose
How I miss her so
When I meet her again
Lord knows when or where
Our love will rekindle
It starts with a stare
I think of her often
Mostly at night
How two became one
It was love at first sight

“A poem I wrote to honor the memory of my late wife, Mary. She truly was the love of my life.”
This beautiful
Great poem as well as a very nice tribute to Mary.
Beautiful. Five years later I feel the same about my dear husband. A car crash and life will never be the same.
Aw, very sweet.
