How to Deal With Rejection When Widowed and Dating by Bard

Rejection is a normal part of dating, but it can be especially painful when you're widowed. After all, you're already grieving the loss of your spouse, and now you have to deal with the rejection of someone who didn't want to date you.

It's important to remember that rejection is not a reflection of your worth as a person. It simply means that you and the other person weren't a good match. Here are a few tips for dealing with rejection when widowed dating:

  • Allow yourself to feel your emotions. It's okay to feel sad, angry, or disappointed after being rejected. Don't try to bottle up your emotions or pretend that you're not hurt.

  • Don't take it personally. Remember that rejection is not a reflection of you as a person. It simply means that you and the other person weren't a good match.

  • Talk to someone you trust. Talking about your feelings with a friend, family member, or therapist can help you to process your emotions and move on.

  • Don't give up. Just because you've been rejected once doesn't mean that you'll be rejected again. Keep putting yourself out there and eventually, you'll find someone who is right for you.

Here are a few additional tips that may be helpful for widowed daters:

  • Be patient with yourself. It takes time to heal from the loss of a spouse and to feel ready to date again. Don't rush yourself.

  • Be honest with your dates. Let them know that you're widowed and that you're still grieving. It's important to find someone who is understanding and supportive.

  • Don't compare potential new partners to your late spouse. Everyone is different. Focus on finding someone who loves and appreciates you for who you are.

Great advise! Sometimes it just isn't meant to be. But, that doesn't mean you won't still find your perfect next chapter!!!
